Whether you're looking for a seasonal grocery store, a place to have lunch, or simply a place to sit and enjoy the outdoors, Butler Farmer's Market is the place to go! Farm-fresh produce, fruits, honey, candy, specialty meat products, and ready-made foods are just some of the things you will find here. The market is open every Monday from 11:00am - 3:00pm from June 2nd thru October 20th - 2014. This years market will be located on Hampton Ave at 127th Street in the Hamptons parking lot. When you're here, stop in at the information booth and say "hello" to Sue, the Market Manager!
When you buy food locally you reduce energy consumption. Local food doesn't have to travel far. Food, on average, travels 1500-2500 miles from farm to table. Buying local helps to lower energy consumption by reducing transportation and storage, both of which are very energy-intensive and pollute our air and water.
Family farms are part of the American tradition of self-sufficiency and serve as the basis of local communities. With each local food purchase more of your money spent on food goes directly to the farmer. Local farmers spend their money with local merchants and the money stays in your community.
The Information Booth is located under a blue canopy displaying a "Market Manager" sign. Stop by to pick up information about the market. Throughout the season, we will host "cooking for kids" classes, classes on nutrition, and meetings to address community health issues. There will be new information laid out each week, so make sure to stop by during your visit.
Tired of carrying heavy, bulky bags to your car? Butler Farmer's Market offers a parcel pick-up service to shoppers. Market volunteers staffing the booth are available to help customers load their purchases.
We're sorry, but pets are not allowed in the market at this time.
At our information booth, you will find a news letter with current Market news, calendar of events and recipes!
